Wave Runner is a multi-waveform sync-able LFO based on the Electric Druid TAPLFO2D family of code, but with some significant additions and improvements. The TAPLFO2D-FC code is exclusive to Frequency Central and was actually developed specifically for the Wave Runner module.
Wave Runner features 8 waveforms, which are:
- sample and hold
- stepped triangle/sawtooth/ramp
All waveforms can be skewed using the Distort knob, while the square wave has exclusive PWM control, and more cyclic waveforms can be pleasantly distorted for control over the noise frequency, bitcrushing, and more! Eg. S/H can be bitcrushed down to 1 bit to produce random triggers).
Wave Runner has a clock sync input, for syncing to an external signal. This input measures the last two incoming pulses and syncs the LFO to them. The multiply knob allows for Wave Runner to run at a rate of x0.5, x1, x1.5, x2, x3 and x4 of the incoming sync pulse, while the Freq control ranges from very slow (0.025Hz) into low audio range (50Hz). There is also a clock output which will send out the multiplied or divided clock signal in sync with the LFO output. This latest version of Wave Runner also features a Level CV input to control the absolute output level of the LFO.
