IDEAL FOR SMALL LUNCHBOX CASES AND STANDALONE INSTRUMENTS
The “Beetle 1.4” provides a simple way to generate 12VDC bipolar power without the need for an AC wall wart.
The PCB is designed for a Meanwell NSD10-12D12, which takes 12VDC and generates bipolar +/- 12VDC. It is intended to be a small power supply for standalone projects – The Meanwell can supply 420mA per rail.
It can also be built with the better (but more expensive) Meanwell DKM10A-12. It has the same footprint except it’s only 1” square instead of 1” x 2”. The Mouser BOM includes a few other alternative DC-DC converters at various price points that should also work. DON’T blindly order the Mouser BOM or you WILL end up with several more DC-DC converters than you need.
