Description

Stasis Leak is a 6HP 48kHz DSP multi-effects module, providing a choice of stereo chorus, stereo plate reverb and tap tempo delay. Thanks to the digital design, several controls of the module have multiple functions, allowing Frequency Central to pack a lot of processing potential into a compact module. To achieve this, the module utilises a Belton ABE-FX sub board based around a V1000 chip. All SMD is pre-soldered.

The three effects are selected via a switch located on the front panel of the Stasis Leak. Two large knobs then affect different components of each effect, allowing for precise control of the processed signal.

Front Panel Controls

Time control

This knob controls a different function for each of the three effects (see chart at bottom). It is also associated with its own CV input, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob serves to attenuate incoming control voltages. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Density control

This knob controls a different function for each of the three effects (see chart at bottom). It is also associated with its own CV input, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob serves to attenuate incoming control voltages. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Tone control

This knob works on each of the three different effects as a simple lowpass filter, cutting the highs in the effected signal, and helping to provide definition between the dry and wet signal.

Wet control

This knob controls the amount of effected signal that is mixed with the dry signal. Dry is always 100%. On the rear of the module there is a Dry Lift jumper, this can come in useful when Stasis Leak is used in a send/return effects loop.

Tap/Sync In

These functions only apply to the delay effect, where they may be used to set the delay time, either manually, or via an incoming clock.

Left Out/Right Out

These two outputs may be used in conjuction for full stereo outputs of the chorus and reverb effects. The delay effect is mono, and either of the outputs may be used. For best results when using the chorus in a mono signal path, the left and right signals, which are 90o out of phase with each other, should be combined using a small mixer (for example: Frequency Central – Process 26 or Volts Platz)
