1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website puts on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and between visits, such as what is in your basket or whether you are logged in.
Some are set by us. Others are set by companies whose services we use, such as analytics and advertising providers. Similar technologies including pixels, tags and local storage do comparable jobs, and where this policy says cookies it covers those too.
2. The categories we use
Strictly necessary. These make the website work. They keep your basket intact between pages, let you log in to your account, and keep the checkout secure. Without them the shop does not function, so these are always set and cannot be turned off.
Analytics. These tell us how the website is used, so we can see which pages people struggle with and what is worth improving. We use two analytics tools, and one of them sets no cookies at all.
Advertising. These let us show our products to people who might want them, and tell us whether an advert led to a sale.
3. The services that set cookies on our site
Our shop software. Our website runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. These set strictly necessary cookies for your basket, your login session and the checkout.
Plausible Analytics. A privacy-focused analytics service that measures how the site is used without setting any cookies, without collecting personal information and without tracking you across other websites. Plausible stores its data in the European Union.
Google Analytics. Measures how the site is used in more detail. It sets cookies and collects information about your device and browsing on our site.
Google Ads. Used for advertising and to measure whether an advert resulted in a purchase.
Meta. Used for advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to measure whether an advert resulted in a purchase.
Embedded content. Some pages show content from other services, including Instagram and Trustpilot. Where that happens, those services may set their own cookies, and their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.

4. How to control cookies
You can control cookies through your browser. Every major browser lets you see what has been set, delete cookies, and refuse them in future. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all explain how.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the shop working. You will not be able to keep a basket or complete an order.
You can also opt out of some advertising through the tools the advertising industry provides, at youronlinechoices.eu in Europe and optout.aboutads.info elsewhere.
5. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our use of cookies changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
