Description
Tubbutec Drummertime is a TR-x0x-inspired step sequencer for drums and modular trigger sequencing. The (Intellijel format) 1U interface allows for large and playable, clicky tactile buttons, and the sequencer is optimized for live performance and allows quick programming and editing of drum patterns. The instrument outputs can send either triggers or gates.
Drummertime comes in two versions:
- A single-module 1U, 74HP version (Intellijel 1U format)
- A two-module version: 1U, 60HP (Intellijel 1U format) and 3U, 4HP. Here, the 1U part contains the 16 illuminated buttons. The 3U part contains the FUNC button and the inputs and outputs.
Drummertime features eight trigger outputs with Accent, and can also function as a MIDI-to-trigger interface thanks to the MIDI inputs, while the MIDI outputs allow it to act as a MIDI sequencer.
The sequencer has 16 patterns that can be saved, recalled, and linked together in song mode. Patterns can be entered in both the classic TR-style programming mode and tap mode for input, providing a range of creative possibilities. Each of the 8 instrument outputs able to have their own pattern length allowing for the easy creation of polyrhythms. Sequencer functions include: variable play direction, probability, swing and flam/ratchet effects as well as live performance muting.
For expanded capabilities, the module includes a link connection on the back that allows you to connect a second Drummertime. The second unit can be set to run in parallel for eight more tracks or in series to double the pattern length to 32 steps.
